Small Change Makes A Difference

The privileged ones should extend their hands to help the less-privileged in making their dreams come true.

I’m Chayapa Nakasiri,
the founder of
SCMAD Project.

I initiated this project based on a belief that everyone should be given an opportunity to freely pursue his or her interests.

The privileged ones should extend their hands to help the less-privileged in making their dreams come true.  By doing this, we help each other to reach our full potentials, which will in turn yield the greatest benefits to our community.

With today's payment digitalization

More and more small transactions are done through digital means.  Nevertheless, in Asian societies, notes and coins remain common.  Many people find it difficult to manage loose change lying unused at home.  Many find it troublesome to put back loose change into the banking system.

I first came up with "Small Change Makes A Difference"

Project based on the vision that unwanted loose change can make a big difference in someone's life.  In November 2022, I and my two friends gave a tutoring on Python at a temple school in Bangkok.  During the session, I met a lot of G10 students who also shared a passion for coding.  Unfortunately, some of them mentioned that they didn't have money and equipment to pursue this interest

Under phase I and II of SCMAD project.

I designed a small piggy bank and distributed to some 100+ donors who contributed their unwanted loose change.  From this activity, I raised USD 2,900 and bought 7 HP computers for 4 schools. Given good support from everyone, SCMAD phase II has been launched to raise more funds through online T-shirt sales.
